Ku or sora, most often translated as "Void", but also meaning "sky" or "Heaven", represents those things beyond our everyday experience, particularly those things composed of pure energy. Bodily, ku represents spirit, thought, and creative energy. It represents our ability to think and to communicate, as well as our creativity. It can also be associated with power, creativity, spontaneity, and inventiveness. Ku is of particular importance as the highest of the elements. In martial arts, particularly in fictional tales where the fighting discipline is blended with magic or the occult, one often invokes the power of the Void to connect to the quintessential creative energy of the world. A warrior properly attuned to the Void can sense their surroundings and act without thinking, and without using their physical senses.

After School Program

Welcome to our After School Page

Here is how it works. We pick up at Pearl Northside Elementary then we go to Pearl Lower and pick up the Lower and Upper students. We also pick up at Pearl Junior High. We are still able to have age of 12 come to the After school Program. After those ages students are able to assist and join our volunteer and Apprentice Program. At age 16 they are able to get a job at Kimery Martial Arts if one is available. Many of the people that we have had work here have been our students.

We arrive back to Kimery Martial Arts at around 3:00 pm. At that time we have a short snack time. Snack can be furnished by parents and sent with the child.

Once snack is finished we begin Homework. Parents must furnish snacks or send money for the snack bar.

HOMEWORK

We advise parents that homework is to be completed here at Kimery Martial Arts. If you would rather your child do theirs at home just let us know. The main reason we like for homeowrk to be completed here is so your child can have more family time at home. We have a strict policy on the homework room and that is there is to be no talking and no playing while in the room. If your child did not complete their homework it is because of two reasons. They talked or played while in the homework room and were asked to leave the room or they said that they did not have any. If your child has homework and said they did not let us know so that we can be sure thay attempt to do it the next time when we ask them. Once finished with Homework the activities begin. Please be sure to furnish pencils and paper for your child's.

Activities May Include

Karate

Indoor Sports and P.E. games such as dodge ball, kick ball, volley ball, tag, etc are played.

Roller Skating

Dance and Cheer

Pick up time is anytime after 4:30 pm. That is when most activities are finished. You may pick your child up at anytime but we suggest not too early. They may not be ready to leave. Honest!

After School ends at 6:00 pm. Please be on time. $5.00 per minute late fee will be charged.

All children are expected to act according to age and rules of our facility. Life lessons of Respect, Patience, Manors, Responsibility and RULE NUMBER ONE. Which is keep your hands, your feet, and mouth to yourself. If everyone in the world would do this life would be much more fun.
